Competing has always been something that I love. With photography, it’s a little daunting. I throw my soul into my work and really strive to make an image that is as powerful in it’s storytelling as it is in it’s foundation. I want people to be able to view my photography as they would my paintings. To feel as much as they see. And, in truth, competing is a chance to challenge myself and test my knowledge against other incredible artists in the field.
This year has been my first year competing at the state level within Nebraska and at the international level. PPofN (professional photographers of Nebraska) and PPA (the professional photographers of America) have both been such a whirlwind for me. Learning, challenging, and rewarding- all during a pandemic. This year has been crazy!
